The Engineer works in the Projects Department where strategic investment projects are managed and handled. The Department handles project engineering and management from inception phase up to the commissioning and final completion. The Projects Department forms a major element of the Major Engineering Projects Division whereby all the mega engineering projects are managed through out the various stages , including; Feasibility Study, Licensors Engineering Design Package Review, Front End Engineering, Procurement & Construction “EPC” phases of the entire package up to close out. The Projects handled are mainly associated with Oil & Gas industry and they are executed to support Bapco’s strategic priorities

Applicant must be Mechanical Engineering graduate, having minimum 10 years experience in Project Management, Basic and Detail engineering in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical or Engineering consultancies. He should posses thorough knowledge and experience in design standards and codes such as ASME, ANSI, API, TEMA etc , project management tools, piping, pumps, pressure vessels, tanks, site activities & supervision, inspection, quality control and commissioning.

Selected candidate will be expected to:

 To direct and manage the assigned project engineering team during the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) Study and the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) phase of the project, up to commissioning and handover of the plant and facilities to Bapco’s Refining Division.

 To co-ordinate the project close-out including archiving of as-built documentation in to Bapco’s Electronic Data Management System (EDMS) and financial close out.

 May perform relief duty for the Project Manager in his absence for vacation or assignment.

 Accountability for design aspects of the project, quality of construction and documentation, project related business outcomes, and to make and implement quality decisions.

 Leadership of the project engineering team; ensuring team motivation, high morale and adherence to Bapco’s One-Team concept.

 Responsibility for mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and civil engineering aspects of the project through all stages from engineering design, construction, commissioning and handover to Operations including estimates and cost control.

 Implementation of the project within the framework of Company standards, practices and Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements.

 Timely completion of project and associated deliverables

 Maintain Issues Register and resolve ongoing Engineering and/or FEED / EPC Contractor’s technical queries.

 Besides coordinating project related matters with other Department Representatives on the Project Management Team, Superintendent – Engineering (MEP Division) shall be directly responsible for the work generated typically by the following positions:

 Mechanical Engineer

 Piping Engineer

 Civil Engineer

 Electrical Engineer

 Instrumentation Engineer

 PIMH Coordinator

Desired Candidate Profile
Education:

(UG - Any Graduate - Any Specialization, Graduation Not Required, B.Tech/B.E. - Chemical, Mechanical, B.Sc) AND (PG - Any PG Course - Any Specialization, Post Graduation Not Required, M.Tech - Chemical, Mechanical)

 Minimum 15 years of engineering and project management related experience in oil & gas industry.

 Must have worked in a similar position on the client side (preferably a major International or National Oil Company) for the last 3 years or for at least one complete project life cycle on a project with a TIC of US$50 million or more.

 Familiarity with the project management and project execution processes, such as Chevron Project Development and Execution Process (CPDEP).

 Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) systems including Management of Change (MOC) and HAZOPs.

 Sensitive to and appreciative of Quality Management and Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) issues.

 Team player with good communication skills.

 Readiness to work with multi-cultural and ethnically diverse project teams (In-house and FEED / EPC Contractor teams)

 Ability to foster team-building across all ranks as Bapco adheres to a One-Team concept with no discrimination on any grounds.

 Willingness to encourage and develop new talent inducted into the company.
