 Primary responsibilities are to assure primary company goal (financial success for the company) by leading a chassis subsystem according to the regulation of ZF.

 In compliance with the primary company goal derive the secondary goal for the Design Engineer towards the customer (Timing, Cost, Function, Weight, Quality and customer satisfaction).

 The primary and secondary goals are to be put in accordance in the best possible way with the tertiary goal (Improvement of organization and capacity utilization).

 The Design Engineer leads the subsystem development according to the customer requirements, guidelines of the technical project leader and the ZF development process.

 The appropriate project management methods, competences and tools are to be used.

 The Design Engineer takes care from the technical point of view for the project target, project organization, project procedures, project planning, project lead and project monitoring related to the assigned subsystem.

 The Design Engineer is part of the technical project core team and is going to communicate and coordinate regarding the assigned subsystem towards the system project and the R&D organization by considering the project target and the changes within the project lifetime.

 Project management of assigned portfolio of subsystems as specified by ZF-F Manager F-DAS

 Primary engineering interface with customer (system/sub-system) and suppliers (component)

 Document assigned components and subsystems into ZF system for production

 Develop and maintain accurate Bill Of Material and design status of assigned subsystems in the PDM system (Axalant)

 Responsible for coordination, planning and execution of DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, CAE analyses, and all other design/release documents (system, subsystem, & component).

 Responsible for achieving performance, cost, risk, weight and agreed program timing requirements

 Coordinate subsystem and component testing and analysis where required

 Provide engineering direction to CAD designers

 Continuous design improvement on current designs to drive cost reductions and competitiveness in component prices (VA/VE)

 Design modifications on assigned portfolio of components to ensure robust designs

 Engineering support for change management

 Lead development of subsystem specifications and requirements.

 Active participation in the APQP process, PFMEAs, Control Plans & VA/VE

 Attend customer meetings including design reviews, PMTs, etc.

 Formulation and cultivation of a strong and credible relationship between ZF and its customers/suppliers

 Cascade customer information to project team (especially module assembly requirements)

 Prepare/summarize reports/data for customer presentation

 Participate in problem solving and recommend corrective action

 Confer with project team to develop a work plan and prioritize tasks

 Comply with the requirements of ISO/TS16949 and ISO14001 policies and procedures

Education:

(UG - B.Tech/B.E. - Mechanical) AND (PG - M.Tech)

1. Bachelor Degree in Engineering and 5 yrs. Automotive Chassis experience.

2. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build teamwork and cooperation amongst work colleagues, supplier and intra-departmental staff

3. Fluent in English and Hindi, German language knowledge would be a benefit

4. Knowledge of APQP, FMEA, TS16949/ISO14001 policies and procedures

5. Demonstrable computer (MS Office Software) and analytical skills are essential

6. Good knowledge of CAD software (ProE, Catia V5 and UniGraphics NX3)

7. Good knowledge of OEM procedures and development process

8. Knowledge of project management (Project targets, organization, planning, lead and timing)

9. Knowledge of PDM system preferred

10.Knowledge of chassis and chassis component development and testing

11.Knowledge of manufacturing and production technology of chassis and chassis components
