Basic Qualifications:
-Minimum Bachelor Degree in Civil (Structural) engineering from an accredited university.
-Minimum 7 years experience in Plant Design Project (Oil and Gas, Petrochem, Refinery or Power plant Project).
-Hand calculations and state-of-the-art computer tools such as STADD will be used to perform structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete structures, foundations, concrete slabs, and structural steel.
-Familiarity with BS, ACI and IBC codes is required.
-Computer proficiency in CAD, Micro-software programs (Excel, Word etc.) is highly desired.
-Experience with concrete and soils.
-Experience with feasibility studies, equipment reliability issues and upgrades to improve safety and reliability.
-Experience in reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data prepared by other engineers is required.
-Understanding and complying with company policies, procedures and processes.
-With good command in English both oral and written.
-Must have or can obtain the right to live and work in the Nigeria
Responsibilities:
-Demonstrate use of independent judgment in performing calculations, modifications and designs and able to present and justify modification to quality and safety reviews.
-Possess superior technical knowledge of civil and structural discipline and ability to work on project teams with other engineers to evaluate conditions and develop design changes which will improve plant performance, safety and reliability.
-Work on project teams to evaluate conditions and propose modifications to improve plant performance, safety and reliability.
-Ability to interface and work with equipment vendors as needed.
-Must be familiar with codes and standards applicable to the Oil & Gas plant industry as well as possess working knowledge of relevant regulations.
-Client skills and understanding of the roles of other disciplines, as well as ability to coordinate and interface with other disciplines is a must.
-Managing budget, scope, schedule and quality associated with the designated work assignment with minimal guidance and technical oversight and able to establish own work priorities.
