1. Develops and evaluates product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements, and related specifications.
2. Provides expertise in technical activities for product line.
3. Analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs, which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.
4. Executes activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design , virtual analysis using software tools and test problems.
5. Participates in meetings and presentations to customers to discuss current designs and potential product line changes.
6. Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
7. Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.
8. Prepares interim and completion project reports.
10. Directs and coordinates manufacturing or building of prototype product or system.
11. Compiles and analyzes operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified product.
12. Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
13. Hands-on person is very important.
14. Experience in materials selection.
15. Proficiency in Design for Manufacturability/ Design for Assembly
16. Should be good at team working and people management.
